scribbling over

Tomorrow will be a Challenge… but so will “all tomorrows” and “every today”

Ever since me and a bunch of my friends have decided to launch a marketing and business club at our college, there have been heavy bombardments of ideas. Initially I thought that the real challenge would be to find takers of the club but contrary to my expectation there are enough takers and the new challenge, we are facing right now, is - how do we handle everyone’s ideas?

You see the real problem with starting anything new is everyone is ready to work for a set of objectives but instead of common objectives, everyone tries to have their own objectives. You take a piece of work, show them and then ask them to give their feedbacks and become part of this work - the result is you’ve completely new interpretations because everyone looks for something for themselves. So, to deal with them you have to look into new ways and then again new meanings are added. This process, whenever it becomes regressive, tends to get you away from the real decisions whenever they are needed. It becomes like a mirage - a “Decision Mirage”. Everytime you think you are near it, you realize its still away. Now, as I belive their are two points that hold key to unlocking this problem:

  1. The club should have something for everyone but not everything they want. We have to draw a line where we stop giving-in for all ideas.
  2. Ask everyone. instead of coming with new ideas all the time. execute. Without execution, every idea is a waste.

Tomorrow that is on 20.10.2010, We’ll present our work to whole batch and try to push execution. Hopefully, the challenges will be faced and resolved even though not ending to surface up.
